ABOUT THE PROJECT
This is a 'Creative Review' magazine cover I designed in my first semester of University. The poster had to be a self portrait, in a random style that was given to us. I was given the style of generative graphic design.
DESIGN PROCESS
After some research I decided I wanted to pursue a wire effect for the final poster. I started by using 'HEGES' iOS to make use of my phones face I.D scanners. I scanned my entire face and then exported the STL into Blender.
Whilst in Blender, I cleaned up some areas of the scan where the phone missed. I also trimmed the shoulder to create a clean divide, like a Roman bust.
I then applied a wire effect and rendered the bust. After creating a clipping mask in Illustrator to clean up any stray edges and creating a background, my poster was done.
